Cleaning and Hygiene

PPE for our team

Staying safe & clean

  • We have increased cleaning measures throughout the gym.
  • We are working hard to ensure that our equipment and facilities are kept spotless at all times, so on top of hourly deep cleans we have a "super spray" that keeps surfaces disinfected for 30 days!

Sharing kit, do your bit

  • We would really appreciate your help with wiping down your equipment once you have used it.
  • You'll find sanitising spray and paper towels available for you to use at our Cleaning Stations.
  • Let's work together to keep the gym immaculate and safe for each other.
  • We have a hand sanitiser dispenser ready for you to use once you enter the gym and as you leave.
  • While you workout with us, please wash your hands regularly with soap and water.

Social Distancing

  •  We know we are usually a social lot but please do your best to maintain a safe gap between you and other members as you move around the gym, while you workout, and when you use the changing rooms.
  • Some equipment has been taken out of action,  and we've installed floor markers, all to help you socially distance safely.

more cleaners have been hired to keep our members safe

Be kind & considerate

  •  Please can we ask that you're patient with your gym team and other members, particularly where we need to maintain social distancing to keep everyone safe. If you're not happy with anything then let a member of the gym team know. Remember, it's been tough for everyone recently though, so let's look after each other as best we can

Reopening information for our members

  • Look out for our emails over the coming days which will provide updates about your membership and how to book your gym session.
  • All membership payments are still frozen and will automatically be reinstated from 24th July 2020
  • We also understand that some members might not be ready to get back to the gym. We will therefore give you the opportunity to continue to freeze your membership for free, if you so wish just drop us an email.

Safety first

The safety of our colleagues, members and all visitors to our gyms is our highest priority. Coronavirus presents us with new challenges in ensuring everyone can enjoy the many health benefits of exercise whilst remaining safe.

Covid-19 FAQs

Pin selected machines on the 1st floor

Is The Gym open yet?

Following guidance issued from the government on Thursday 9th July 2020, we will re-open from the 25th July 2020. We can’t wait to welcome you back to your gym soon! You will receive email communications before the 25th to clearly detail what this means for you and inform you of your options when we re-open.

Is the gym fully open, will all equipment be available to use?

To ensure that our members can maintain a safe distance from each other whilst working out, we will have moved some bits of kit around, and put others out of action. Whilst we will have less equipment and machines to use whilst we help maintain social distancing measures, we have done our best to keep as much kit in use as possible.

When you reopen, how busy will The Gym be at certain times?

When we're open, you will be able to check out how busy your gym is through the new feature on the Fitsense app –

To ensure that you get the most out of your experience, you will need to pre book your session.

What extra measures will be put in place to keep members safe?

We have put some pieces of equipment out of action to help ensure that our members can train whilst adhering to social distancing measures. We are also limiting the number of people allowed in the gym at any one time, as well as providing cleaning equipment and hand sanitiser for our members to use as they enter the gym, and to clean the equipment after use. To help us keep our members safe, we ask that you respect the social distancing rules, and regularly wash your hands.

Are you still going to be open 24/7?

Yes, but we have reduced numbers of people allowed in overnight,

How will you keep members safe that are still seen to be higher risk?

We want all our members to feel safe in The Gym. As such, all members must continue to follow the advice of Government and national health services. This includes ‘shielding’ for any vulnerable people, such as those with breathing difficulties, or other medical conditions which can mean that they are at higher risk as a result of COVID-19.

Should you not be able to return to The Gym when we reopen because you are shielding, continue to self-isolate, or do not yet feel ready to come back to us, please do get in touch and we can put your account to ‘frozen’ until you are ready to return

G

What do I do if I feel unwell?

f you are unwell, symptomatic or have tested positive for coronavirus, do not attend the gym and follow government regulation on isolating for the minimum period of time, and only return after this minimum period if you are feeling well again.

Will paper towels and sanitiser be available for members?

We have installed custom cleaning stations that provide both hand sanitiser for all our members to use on entry, as well as paper towels and sanitiser spray to clean the equipment after use. We ask that all members use the cleaning product to clean the equipment to help reduce the risk of any illnesses being spread.

What are you doing to keep the equipment and facilities clean?

We are working hard to ensure that our hygiene standards are kept to an exceptional level. To achieve this, we have increased the regularity that our facilities and equipment is cleaned, as well as providing more cleaning products for our members to use. This helps ensure that the equipment is regularly cleaned and decontaminated. We also deep clean the gym early each morning  so that it is fresh each day.
